Photo Session

We just got back the photos, that our great friend Mark Gsellman took for the Hoepfinger family (Kent's sisters, and parents, the boys... Grandma Frances McCoy).... anyhow, it was a quick time, with some testy kids off and on, but overall we got some good pics!
Enjoy!

Lice, lice, fabulous lice!

So who can trump my weekend? Lice! Its going around Poulsbo Elementary and Bainbridge schools... and I checked Chloe's head on Friday and voila... we found 3 nits (we think) and so we went into Operation Lice Lockdown mode! We've wsahing EVERYthing we could in our house, if it couldn't be washed, we bagged it up in the garage (has to stay there for 2 weeks... lots of tears about some stuffed animal friends)... if it couldn't fit in a bag we vacuumed and sprayed it with special spray, we've treated ALL of our heads, we've picked through ALL of our heads multiple times now, treated the car seats too.... Chloe is home today b/c you're supposed to wait until 3 days after the initial treatment to check and make sure they're clear...

All I have to say is that I went ape! Seriously. I freaked out! The kids were great, very patient. The biggest bummers is that Kent and I missed our first gourmet dinner in 5 years (a monthly dinner group we do with a group of friends), I also missed an overnight retreat with my MOPS friends on BI... too much cleaning and I couldn't let go and leave Kent in charge. We also missed our date night too! I'm so bummed!!!

Anyhow, so much fun! LOL!

Wish I had pictures of our adventure in parenting.... but I was too frantic to do that!

Fall has fallen

Fall has fallen, the weather has changed (although today is a beautiful sunny day, cold and crisp)! We decided to go to the pumpkin patch (http://www.sunrisehillfarm.org/) in Kingston (just opened this year) for some family fun time after Chloe's soccer game.... the weather was off and on again rainy and windy.... but we persevered! It was a blast.... they had a place for the kids to jump in the hay, go through a hay maze, go through their fun corn maze (which is shaped like an orca- you can see it from the air), eat some lunch (foot long hot dogs and grilled corn), roast marshmallows over their fire pits, get pumpkins and of course they're all set up for absolutely adorable fall pictures!

Birthday Wish Granted

Kent finally got to go backpacking for his birthday.... (#34---shhhhh), he went with his dad to the Enchantment Valley area outside of Leavenworth, WA in the Cascade Mountains.... 5 days and 4 nights. Did I mention that this was the 2nd of 3 weekends in a row that Kent was gone backpacking? Oh well, the kids and I survived and Kent did too! He had a great time too!
